Tasty Plastic, Metal and Glass

Yes, I insinuate that you consume plastic, metal and glass in your everyday foods.  Chemical & Engineering News indicates that chemicals leach from all of our packaging, including from drink cartons, medicine foils, and glass jars.

The article contends that we do not face a question of if our foods contain leached levels of the containers, but instead how much.

I found this article from one of my favorite Twitter friends, @SueHuskins who sent me the article by way of @FoodSafety.

Wow, That’s pretty crazy to think about that we are consuming raw materials into our bodies everyday! It must be a very small percentage because otherwise I feel like our bodies would not be handling it very well and would hear on a more consistent basis of people getting sick.

Indeed. Small teeny micro mini doses of materials. I think people have gotten really concerned because we are only beginning to understand what cumulative effect these materials have, if any. In a society with rising obesity, diabetes, and cancer rates, we’re looking at food, packaging, cosmetics… everything… with pointed fingers.

At some point, we do what we can, and don’t let the rest eat at us. :D I guess… :D

    Any thoughts?
