Triangle Job Open with Local Rockstars
Not literal rockstars, but Larry’s Beans Coffee is pretty close to stardom, and they are a crown jewel in the Triangle’s hip and green market. Yesterday, I noticed a full-time job opening at Larry’s Beans as an Account Manager.
Larry’s Beans coffee is organic, fair trade, kosher and a plethora of other fantastic certifications. The beans are roasted here, they have a cool bus, and their coffee is as awesome tasting as their names are fantastically whimsical. Seriously, who can pass up a cup of “El Salvador Dali”, “Bean Martin”, “Frank Sumatra”, or my favorites, the “3 Moon Peru” and their holiday blends.

These coffee addicts and self-proclaimed fair trade mavericks are one of my favorite coffee brands, period. Add to that their sustainability school, and you can see why I love this company.
By now you should be sold on why this company would be great to work with, but just in case, look at the awesome Rock Star characters you would work with in this small, kickbutt company.
So, if you feel like you could get stoked to be a full-time ambassador of fair trade, sustainable company ethic and coffee, click here to get a better look at the job and how to apply.
Sustainably yours, Ashley Sue

I only have one thing to say about your favorite “sustainable company ethic”—
Complete employee turnover in less than two years.
Period.
Wow, JB. Thanks for commenting.
I am not sure what arises within a small company to have such a turnover, except perhaps that times are tough. I know a few small groups and non-profits that actually went through that this year as employees moved on to other jobs, bigger paychecks, or the company just had to go through a complete revamping in order to sustain these economic times, as the previous setup and staff was disengaged and contrary to the company’s ultimate mission. I am not saying these are the reasons for Larry’s Beans situation. Just hoping to offer a “more than appears” possibility to the scenario.
Thank you for offering something to ponder on with your comment, JB.

A.S. Unfortunately you would be wrong in your assessment. These owners don’t know the true meaning of sustainability. That’s taking care of your people and not treating the business as a kingdom. That’s REAL sustainability. I have had some terrible candy in my life with beautiful wrappers. Pictures often don’t tell true stories, and claims of what one is doing don’t validate the act. Rockstars….hardly. Self-absorbed, selfish individuals without care for others, definitely.
I have to say, I am not sure where your or JB’s comments come from. I cannot say they are unwarranted, but I can say that from the Larry’s Beans employees I have known, the efforts I have seen in the company, as well as the interactions and collaborations I have known of Larry’s Beans, I would still proudly apply to work with the company.
On that note, I have a similar anecdote with a PR company which shall remain nameless. I worked briefly with a “reputable” PR company in the area. I left very quickly as I saw what were issues in direct conflict with my own work ethic and integrity. However, many many people didn’t see their practices as questionable. So I must consider myself one opinion out of many others that oppose. No issue. I certainly wouldn’t tell others not to work with said PR company. Those interested would have to gauge that for themselves.
The Larry’s Beans mission is sound, and any rockstars seeking work should feel good applying for the position. If they feel any red flags when working with the Larry’s Beans rockstar staff, they will cross that bridge then.
